    How this interactive diagnostic works

This page provides the documented overview before the interactive experience is loaded. It lets you read the purpose, the material covered and the way the result is presented without entering answers or sending a request. When you choose to continue, the interactive version uses the same material shown here. It records your selections while you work and only calculates its result when its required items are complete.

Analytics consent is required before the interactive experience is mounted. Declining consent does not start the diagnostic or its tracking. If you continue, the existing experience remains responsible for its own input, score and lead-capture step. Where the route requests a first name and work email, its existing form handles validation and submission. This overview does not replace those steps or submit a lead.

    Statements in this diagnostic

The interactive version groups the statements below by section. Read them in relation to the situation named in the instructions, then use the response scale shown by the diagnostic. The section descriptions are part of the existing configuration and explain the aspect each group is intended to examine.

    Originality & Idea Fluency

The ability to generate many ideas, and ideas that are genuinely novel rather than variations on what already exists.

    1. I regularly generate ideas that feel genuinely new, not just variations on existing approaches
    2. When asked to brainstorm, I can produce a high volume of ideas quickly without running out
    3. I make connections between ideas, fields or concepts that others around me don't typically see
    4. I draw inspiration from outside my field and bring those ideas into my work
    5. The ideas I contribute in group settings are typically seen as different from what others suggest

    Flexibility & Elaboration

Creative flexibility, the ability to shift perspective and develop ideas in multiple directions, is essential for turning initial sparks into workable innovations.

    1. I can look at the same problem from several fundamentally different angles before settling on an approach
    2. I develop ideas beyond their initial form, adding detail, nuance and practical structure
    3. When my first solution doesn't work, I can quickly generate alternative approaches rather than persisting with a broken idea
    4. I am good at taking a rough idea and turning it into something concrete and actionable
    5. I can combine existing ideas in new configurations to produce solutions that feel fresh

    Tolerance of Ambiguity

Creative work requires the ability to hold uncertainty, to stay in the exploratory phase long enough for genuinely new ideas to emerge.

    1. I am comfortable working in situations where the problem is not yet clearly defined
    2. I can resist the urge to close down on a solution too quickly, I stay open until I have explored the space properly
    3. I am energised rather than frustrated by open-ended challenges with no obvious right answer
    4. I can work effectively even when I don't have all the information I would ideally like
    5. I am comfortable presenting ideas that are not yet fully formed and developing them through conversation

    Creative Drive & Intrinsic Motivation

Sustained creative output requires internal motivation, a genuine desire to make things, improve things and explore new possibilities.

    1. I find the act of creating, whether writing, designing, problem-solving or building, intrinsically rewarding
    2. I pursue creative interests outside of work for their own sake, not for external recognition
    3. I keep going on creative projects when they get difficult, rather than moving on to easier tasks
    4. I am genuinely curious, I explore ideas and questions that have no immediate practical application
    5. I regularly seek out new experiences, perspectives or stimuli specifically to fuel my creative thinking

    How the result is read

The interactive diagnostic totals the selected item scores by section and across the whole assessment. It then matches those totals to the configured interpretation bands and shows the section-level results alongside the overall result.

    • Developing, 20 to 44: Your creative capacity has significant room to grow. Start with Tolerance of Ambiguity, this is typically the biggest barrier for people who feel 'not creative'. Creative thinking requires staying in uncertain territory longer than feels comfortable. Practise this deliberately.
    • Emerging, 45 to 64: Emerging creative capacity with clear strengths and clear gaps. Most people at this level have strong fluency but weak flexibility, they generate many ideas but find it hard to develop them or shift direction. Look at your Flexibility & Elaboration score.
    • Capable, 65 to 82: A capable creative thinker. You contribute original ideas and can develop them with structure. To grow further, focus on Originality, look for inspiration further outside your field and practise making more unusual connections.
    • Advanced, 83 to 100: High creative capacity across all dimensions. You are in the minority of people who generate genuinely novel ideas consistently and develop them effectively. The key growth area is creating conditions for others to be creative, your approach to the work environment shapes what is possible collectively.
